Asdrubal Huerta

Dr Asdrubal René Huerta Gallango is a medical doctor and clinical psychologist with advanced training in mental health and clinical neurosciences. He holds a Master’s degree in Mental Health (specialisation in Neurotoxicology) from the University of Almería, Spain, and is currently a PhD candidate in Health, Psychology and Psychiatry at the same institution.

He completed a research fellowship in Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Illinois (USA), as well as a research fellowship in Cognitive Neurosciences at the University of Edinburgh (Scotland), where his work focused on the neurobiological and cognitive mechanisms underlying complex clinical conditions.

Since 2002, Dr Huerta has worked extensively as a clinician in the assessment, diagnosis, rehabilitation and treatment of cognitive, emotional and behavioural disturbances associated with dementias and other cognitive disorders. His clinical practice integrates neuropsychological, medical and psychological perspectives, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based approaches.

He currently combines private clinical practice with professional work in the pharmaceutical industry, contributing to highly specialised medical areas.

His current academic and clinical interests include scientific scepticism, the application of neuroscience to everyday life and decision-making, the therapeutic use of cognitive biases, and the study of psychedelics and electrical and magnetic neurostimulation as potential therapeutic tools.
